Pseudomonas agar base may be used for the selective detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa pathogens in mineral water sample that are mainly responsible for food and waterborne infections.

Preparation Note

Suspend 24.2 g of Pseudomonas Agar Base in 500 ml of distilled water containing 5 ml of glycerol Cat. No. 49767). Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs. pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. Cool to 50°C and aseptically add the sterile rehydrated contents of either Cetrinix Supplement (C8721) or C.F.C. Supplement (Cat. No. 53477). Mix well and pour into sterile petri plates.
