Application
An agar suitable for the detection and enumeration of faecal coliforms by the membrane filtration technique.
Preparation Note
Suspend 50g in 1 litre demineralised water. Boil whilst stirring until completely dissolved. If desired, add 10ml of a 1% solution of rosolic acid in 0.2N NaOH to the medium. Continue heating for 1 minute whilst stirring. Cool to 45 -50°C. Mix well and pour plates.
