General description
La disolución de penicilina y estreptomicina, también denominada Pen Strep, es la disolución antibiótica utilizada con más frecuencia para el cultivo de células de mamífero. La disolución de penicilina y estreptomicina se utiliza para mantener las condiciones estériles durante el cultivo celular, y tiene pocos efectos adversos en las células cultivadas.[1][2]
Application
La penicilina-estreptomicina se utiliza como suplemento de los medios de cultivo celular para controlar la contaminación bacteriana. Se recomienda su uso en aplicaciones de cultivo celular a 10 ml/litro.

Is it possible to thaw it before use by taking it out of the -20°C storage? If so, what is the recommended method for thawing?

It is best to aliquot it, keep the stock at -20°C, and take out the needed amount, leaving it in the fridge (4°C) overnight for use the next day. Warming it before use in a warm water bath is not recommended.
