- in anti-HMGCR enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)[1]
- as an antigen to measure anti-HMGCR antibodies by blot analysis[2]
- in HMG-CoA reductase activity assays[3]
- as an antigen to compare in-house antigen via sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE)/western blot[4]
Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas
3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase/HMGCR serves as a rate limiting enzyme in mevalonate pathway. It also controls the oncogenic Hippo transducers TAZ/YAP.[5] HMGCR also perform as a genetic modifier for Alzheimer′s disease (AD).[6]
Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase catalyzes the committed step in cholesterol biosynthesis.
