General description

An internal standard suitable for alprazolam testing or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, pain prescription monitoring or forensic analysis. Marketed under the trade name Xanax®, alprazolam is a benzodiazepine drug used for the medical treatment of anxiety and panic disorders, including generalized or social anxiety disorder.

Application


  • Alprazolam-d₅ solution in toxicological analysis: Research demonstrates the application of Alprazolam-d₅ as an internal standard in toxicology and seized drug DUID casework, specifically in the analysis of benzodiazepines including novel designer compounds (Reber et al., 2023).

  • Forensic application of Alprazolam-d₅: Alprazolam-d₅ is used in forensic science to differentiate and quantify benzodiazepine metabolites in biological specimens, aiding in the clarification of forensic cases (Terada et al., 2013).
