一般描述

来自Triticum vulgaris的小麦胚芽凝集素（WGA）以同型二聚体形式存在，并且具有多个N-乙酰葡糖胺（GlcNAc）结合位点。它对蛋白质变性剂具有抗性，可用于检测 O-GlcNAc蛋白。[1] WGA与N-乙醇酰神经氨酸（Neu5Ac）结合可调节促炎免疫应答。[2]

应用

来自Triticum vulgaris （小麦）的凝集素已被用于：
  • 丝虫寄生虫的子宫内阶段的样品的凝集素结合测定中[3]
  • 小鼠心肌细胞的组织学研究中[4]
  • 与Dynabeads一起形成珠子-生物素-WGA复合物® M-280链霉抗生物素蛋白磁珠，用于对来自水样中的弓形虫卵母细胞中的凝集素进行磁性分离[5]

生化/生理作用

WGA 不具有血型特异性，但具有与 N-乙酰基-β-D-葡糖胺残基和 N-乙酰基-β-D-葡糖胺低聚物的亲和性。WGA 不含蛋白结合糖。
