一般描述
角蛋白是上皮组织的标志性中间纤维蛋白。在人类中，角蛋白分为I型和II型。约有54个基因编码角蛋白。角蛋白1（KRT1）基因被定位到人类染色体12q13.13上。它是头发、皮肤和指甲的主要成分。
应用
人表皮角蛋白已用于：
- 在固相抗体芯片中作为分析物和交叉反应剂用于测定选择系数
- 作为细胞外基质(ECM)蛋白标准品进行体外蛋白降解分析
- 作为酶联免疫吸附测定(ELISA)的标准品
生化/生理作用
角蛋白对于上皮细胞和组织的机械稳定性和完整性非常重要。一些角蛋白还具有调节功能，并可参与细胞内信号转导途径，例如对压力的保护、伤口愈合和细胞凋亡。这组多样化的细胞骨架支架蛋白可形成中等细丝网络，其为维持皮肤完整性的角质形成细胞提供了结构支持。角蛋白基因的表达通常受分层鳞状上皮细胞内表皮细胞分化的调节。
