Bluo-Gal是β-半乳糖苷酶的显色底物,用于确定琼脂平板上生长的细菌中是否存在克隆的DNA插入片段。Bluo-Gal设计用于具有lac +表型的重组细菌菌落的蓝白色选择中替代X-Gal。
應用
Blu-Gal适用于选择具有lac +表型的重组细菌菌落。Bluo-Gal适合作为β-半乳糖苷酶底物用于皮肤组织的电镜分析染色,网织红细胞样品和成年小鼠腔静脉的染色。

原則
当Bluo-Gal被β-半乳糖苷酶水解时,所得产物会形成蓝色沉淀。在Bluo-Gal存在的情况下,Lac +菌落的蓝色比X-Gal更深,从而能够区分Lac +和Lac-菌落。
