当添加血液时，由于其葡萄糖含量，该培养基不太适合鉴定溶血形式。在处理荚膜组织胞浆菌时应格外小心，以避免其感染性孢子的传播。培养物应在封闭的过滤空气柜中检查。

应用

BHI 琼脂是一种通用培养基，用于从临床标本中初步分离致病性需氧菌，以及培养和维持食品、动物饲料、水和其他样品中的难养微生物。
添加到基础培养基中的脱纤维羊血为难养真菌微生物提供了必需的生长因子。

制备说明

取52 g溶于1L蒸馏水中。加热煮沸至完全溶解培养基。分装到试管或瓶中，并在121°C下高压蒸汽灭菌15分钟。

其他说明

选择溶血性葡萄球菌临床分离株对万古霉素的耐药性。
