膜相关的RING-CH蛋白5(March5),也称为NKP66,被认为是位于线粒体膜上的线粒体泛素连接酶。March5具有植物同源域(PHD)基序,这对于E3泛素连接酶作用至关重要。MARCH 5也被认为具有四个跨膜结构域。March5与线粒体裂变和分裂有关。March5似乎还通过与突变型超氧化物歧化酶1(mSOD1)相互作用并阻止mSOD1引起损伤而对线粒体功能障碍具有防御作用。mSOD1损伤与肌萎缩性侧索硬化症的发作和进展有关。
