应用

Battery grade sodium hexafluorophosphate (NaPF₆) is a reliable precursor salt for sodium ion batteries (NIBs). NaPF₆ is commonly used as the source of sodium ions in liquid electrolytes due to its excellent properties including high solubility in organic solvents, high anodic electrochemical stability, and ability to form fluoride-rich solid electrolyte interphases (SEI) Often NaPF₆ is used in research to design electrolytes that enhance the energy/power density or cycle life of sodium-ion batteries. For example, studies have shown that NaPF₆-based electrolytes often offer the best performance, especially in conjunction with additives like FEC Additionally, NaPF₆ is widely used because it is compatible with most battery materials including sodium metal, hard carbon, most oxide and phosphate cathode materials, as well as copper and aluminum current collectors. As a result, NaPF₆-based electrolytes are the go-to for sodium-ion battery research and development.
