Allgemeine Beschreibung

Lentil Lectin Sepharose^™ media is used for purification of a number of glycoproteins and other carbohydrate containing molecules. The lentil lectin ligand has more equal affinity for α-D-mannose and α-D-glucose compared to Con A.

Lentil lectin is a metalloprotein, containing Ca²⁺ and Mn²⁺, which binds reversibly to polysaccharides and glycoconjugates containing glucose or mannose type sugars. Lentil Lectin Sepharose^™ 4B is a generally applicable group specific adsorbent and is routinely used in the preparation and purification of a number of glycoproteins and carbohydrate containing molecules.

• Binds molecules that contain α-D-mannose, α-D-glucose, and sterically related residues
• Compared to Con A, also for glycoprotein purification, Lentil Lectin distinguishes less sharply between glucosyl and mannosyl
