Preparation Note

Suspend 43 g of Wilkins Chalgren Anaerobic Agar in 1000 ml of distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Dispense and sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs. pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. Cool to 50°C before adding antibiotics to be tested. Mix gently and pour into sterile petri plates.For the cultivation of anaerobes add 2 vial of Non-Spore Anaerobic Supplement (Cat. No. N8781) or 2 vial of G.N. Spore Anaerobic Supplement (Cat. No. G3789) as desired into the sterile molten medium before pouring into sterile petri plates.
