General description

The LC-SCX cation-exchange columns have strongly acidic propylsulfonic acid groups and are used for separating cations. Adjust pH, ionic strength, and organic modifier concentration to control retention and selectivity.

Application

Supelcosil LC-SCX HPLC column was used during the purification and characterization of 8-hydroxyguanine (oh8Gua), from Human Urine.[1] It was used as a cation exchange column, during measurement and extraction of water-soluble arsenic, freeze-dried marine animal tissues, using high performance liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HPLC-ICP-MS).[2] It was also used in the chromatographic separation of arsenic compounds.[3]

Polar and non-polar HPLC solvents can be used as mobile phases for the Supelcosil LC-SCX, within pH range of 2-7.  The mobile phase used for testing and shipping of the column is 0.05M KH2PO4 buffer (pH 3.5):acetonitrile (65:35).  Cleaning solvents include deionized water, methanol, acetonitrile, and methylene chloride.
