Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) belongs to Type II class of interferons and is produced by T helper cells (specifically, Th1 cells), natural killer (NK) and natural killer T (NKT) cells and cytotoxic T cells (TC cells) . It has various biological functions including antiviral activity like inhibition of cell or tumor growth, act as a potent modulator of immune responses and modifies cellular processes as well as stimulates the differentiation of B cells into immunoglobulin-producing cells. Monoclonal Anti-Interferon-γ antibody can be used in immunoblotting. Rat anti-Interferon-γ antibody has shown no cross-reactivity for recombinant human IFN-γ or recombinant rat IFN-γ.
Specificity
The antibody does not cross-react with recombinat human IFN-γ or recombinant rat IFN-γ.
Immunogen
recombinant mouse IFN-γ.
Application
Monoclonal Anti-Interferon-γ antibody can be used in neutralization and indirect ELISA.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline and 5% trehalose.
Preparation Note
Purified from cell culture supernatant using protein G.

Mouse interferon preparations inhibited the multiplication of mouse leukemia L 1210 cells in stationary suspension cultures. The degree of inhibition was found to correlate with the antiviral titer of the interferon preparations. The factor(s) responsible for inhibition of L 1210

Interferon (IFN)-gamma production, stimulated by the addition of exogenous interleukin (IL) 2, T cell mitogens, or tuberculin purified protein derivative (PPD) was studied in cultures of separated human mononuclear cells or unseparated peripheral blood leukocytes (PBL). IFN-gamma was induced by
As described in this review, both partially purified and recombinant interferons are potent modulators of differentiation in diverse cell culture systems (Table 2). Depending on the target cell, interferon exerts either an inhibitory or an inductive effect on cell differentiation.

The human Fc gamma RI (CD64) is a high affinity receptor for the Fc portion of immunoglobulin (Ig), and its constitutively low expression on the cell surface of monocyte/macrophage and neutrophils is selectively upregulated by interferon gamma (IFN-gamma) treatment (Perussia
Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) is crucial for immunity against intracellular pathogens and for tumor control. However, aberrant IFN-gamma expression has been associated with a number of autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases. This cytokine is produced predominantly by natural killer (NK) and natural killer
