The gene HSA (human serum albumin) is mapped to human chromosome 4q13.3.[1] The gene encodes a protein of 585 amino acids with a molecular weight of 66.4kDa.[2] HSA is the most abundant protein in the plasma and has many metal-binding sites.[3][4]

애플리케이션

HSA (human serum albumin) has been used for the development of automated dye-binding method for serum albumin determination using bromcresol purple.[5] It has also been used to study effect of HSA on DNA transfection by lipoplexes.[6]

HSA (human serum albumin) mainly works as a carrier for various nutrients, metabolites and xenobiotics. It interacts with plasma zinc and regulates uptake of zinc in cells.[4] HSA plays a crucial role in drug pharmacokinetics.[3] It also controls oncotic pressure and volume of the blood.[7] Mutations in the gene are linked with congenital analbuminemia and familial dysalbuminemic hyperthyroxinemia.[1][8]

  1. What solvent can I use to dissolve albumin?

    1. This product is a prepared solution at 10 mg/mL. The 1 mg package will have a volume of 100 ul. The formulation of the diluent used to prepare this product is proprietary, however this product can be further diluted in PBS., medium, or other aqueous buffers. HSA, in powder form, can be dissolved in water or other buffers at up to 50 mg/mL.

  2. Hi, this products CoA and SDS don't include the concentration. Is there a way we can get updated documentation to include the 10mg/mL?

    1. The final concentration of this product (SRP6182) is not tested or reported. This is a part of the production process. Should this information be required for your application see products A9080 or A6784. These are 30% and 10% solutions, respectively. The lot specific certificate of analysis for these products confirms the final concentration. The product can be further diluted based on this information to the desired concentration.

  3. It says this is 1 mg and 200 mg/mL. That would mean the product is 5 microliters. Is this correct?

    1. This product is supplied at a concentration of 10mg/mL; therefore 1mg of material is contained in a volume of 100uL.
