Glycerol 3-phosphate oxidase is a member of the cytoplasmic oxygen utilizing catabolic enzymes.[1] It is usually a cytoplasmic protein, present in M. pneumoniae. It is produced from glycerophospholipids, that are normally found in the respiratory tract.[2] Glycerol 3-phosphate oxidase helps to reduce dioxygen to water/hydrogen peroxide.[1]
