It plays a vital role in Golgi trafficking and morphology by interacting with the unconventional myosin 18A (MYO18A) linking Golgi membranes to the F-actin cytoskeleton. GOLPH3 is an oncogene that is commonly targeted for amplification in human cancer and cancer cell lines. Furthermore, Golph3 overexpression is correlated with the hyperactivation of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling in human cells.

For continuous use, store at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers,is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
