일반 설명
Pandinotoxin (PiTX)-Kα is a 35 amino acid peptide isolated from venom of the scorpion Pandinus imperaton. PiTX-Kβ and PiTXγ are other two members of pandinotoxin group. All the three pandinotoxins have structures similar to another scorpion toxin charybdotoxin (ChTX). The structure of PiTXs contains a β-sheet at the C- terminal end with three cysteines which is linked to the central α-helix by two disulfide bridges (C17-C35 and C13-C33) and to an extended amino-terminal fragment by the third disulfide bridge (C7-C28).[1]
생화학적/생리학적 작용
Pandinotoxin (PiTX) –Kα along with PiTX-Kβ and PiTXγ plays a vital role in blocking voltage-gated K+ channels.[1]
