Native, human luteinizing hormone from pituitary gland. Heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland that is required for ovulation, spermatogenesis, and the biosynthesis of sex steroids. Regulates biosynthesis and/or secretion of sex steroids. In the female, LH stimulates synthesis of progesterone in the ovaries, release of estrogen from Graafian follicles, induction of ovulation, and formation of the corpus luteum. In the male, LH stimulates testosterone secretion by the testes. Biological specificity has been attributed to the β-chain.

    1. The solubility of gonadorelin (acetate) in ethanol is roughly 0.25 mg/ml and about 30 mg/ml in DMSO and DMF.

  2. Hello, Can this iodination grade hLH be used in rat LH radioimmunoassay or do you carry any iodination grade rLH?

    1. The suitability of this product in rat studies has not been determined. It has been shown that iodination may lower the potency of LH and a lower affinity to hormonal receptors. It may be helpful to view a similar product L6420. Again, this product has not been tested for suitability in rat.
