D-ribo-Phytosphingosine has been used to determine its ability to rescue the growth defect of the PFA4 deletion strain (pfa4Δ) in response to myriocin.[3] It has also been used to capture phosphatidylinositol bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2), phosphatidylinositol triphosphate (PI(3,4,5)P3), phosphatidyl serine (PS) and phosphatidyl choline (PC) liposomes on a carboxymethyl dextran chip (CMDHchip).[4][5] It may be used for the preparation of lipids.[6]
생화학적/생리학적 작용
D-ribo-phytosphingosine modulates cellular growth and acts as a precursor for several lipid mediators, such as phytosphingosine (PHS) 1-phosphate, inositol phosphorylceramide and KRN7000 (α-anomer of galactosylceramide). It helps in mediating the heat stress response of yeast cells.[2]
