Lyso-phosphatidylcholine (LPC) is a bioactive proinflammatory lipid secreted on pathological response.[1] It has a choline group at its polar head.[2] Lysophosphatidylcholine (Lyso-PC) is a component of blood plasma, vascular tissue and lipoproteins.[3]

애플리케이션

12:0 Lyso PC has been used to study its neuritogenic activity[4] and the applications of exogenous lipids.[5]

생화학적/생리학적 작용

Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) alters various functions in different cell-types, like endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, monocytes, macrophages and T-cells. It is associated with atherosclerosis and inflammatory diseases. LPC activates many second messengers including, protein kinase C, extracellular-signal-regulated kinases and protein tyrosine kinases.[1]
