Gene Information

human ... RHOA(387)

General description

RhoA (ras homolog family member A) belongs to the Rho GTPase family of proteins. It is located on chromosome 3p21.31.

Specificity

Anti-RhoA recognizes human RhoA.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 177-189 located near the C-terminus of human RhoA.

Biochem/physiol Actions

In multiciliated epithelial cells, RhoA (ras homolog family member A) controls the actin network dynamics. It also modulates membrane protrusion and contractility in the cell body. It is one of the essential factor for Ras transformation. It is associated with cancer metastasis.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots at –20 °C. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in "frost-free" freezer, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours. For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month.

The RhoA GTPase is crucial in numerous biological functions and is linked to cancer metastasis. However, the understanding of the molecular mechanism responsible for RhoA transcription is still very limited. Here we show that RhoA transcription is orchestrated by the
