General description
The new ADP Assay Kit, MAK518, is now available! Adenosine diphosphate (ADP) is a nucleoside diphosphate that plays a critical role in energy transfer reactions. ADP is produced from adenosine triphosphate (ATP) via the action of ATPases. ADP also plays a critical role in platelet function. ADP, stored in platelet-dense granules, is released upon platelet activation where it acts on purinergic receptors to mediate intracellular signaling and platelet aggregation. ADP is a key agonist involved in thrombosis and hemostasis.
Features and Benefits
Compatible with high-throughput handling systems.
Suitability
Suitable for the measuerement of ADP in a variety of biological samples including cell and tissue lysates
Principle
In this assay, ADP (adenosine diphosphate) concentration is determined by a coupled enzyme reaction, which results in a colorimetric (570 nm)/fluorometric (λex = 535/λem = 587 nm) product, proportional to the ADP present.
