General description
Milliflex Oasis® 250 mL funnel is a ready-to-use, sterile filter unit that combine a funnel and a plain membrane filter in a single device offering a complete solution for bioburden testing. The filter unit is made of Styrene butadiene copolymer and the membrane is made of white plain, 49mm diameter polyvinylidene difluoride (Durapore®) with 0.45μm pore size. The PVDF Durapore® filter has a broad chemical compatibility and low protein binding. The sealed integral membrane filter eliminates the need for membrane manipulation and handling, thus minimizing a major source of contamination and thereby improves bioburden testing reliability. The sealed membrane prevents the bypass phenomenon often found with other filtration systems. The Milliflex Oasis membrane filter possesses almost twice the surface area of standard membranes enabling faster filtration and the funnel can be easily detached from the membrane without the use of any tools. The convex shape of the membrane after filtration demonstrates the integrity of the membrane and prevents air bubbles from being trapped when placed on culture media.
Ready-to-use, sterile MILLIFLEX OASIS® filtration units combine a funnel and a plain membrane filter in one device that is compatible with MILLIFLEX® Rapid technology.
Application
Milliflex Oasis® 250 mL funnel with PVDF membrane is used in Bioburden testing. The PVDF filter has a broad chemical compatibility and is designed for samples containing anti-microbial agents. It is widely used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and brewing industry.
