General description

Protects cells against damaging effects of radiation and oxygen radicals. Increases rate of mineralization in osteoblasts. A cofactor involved in hydroxylation of proline and lysine. Reduces Na+ - Ca2+ exchange in cultured astrocytes. Modulates cyclic nucleotide levels in B and T cells. Inhibits apoptosis in cultured rat ovarian follicles.

Application

  • The comparison of contribution of GO and rGO produced by green synthesis to the properties of CMC-based wound dressing material.: This study evaluates the enhancement of wound dressing materials through the incorporation of graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) synthesized via green methods, emphasizing the role of L-Ascorbic Acid, Free Acid in stabilizing these nanomaterials. This research demonstrates the compound′s critical role in biomedical applications, particularly in enhancing the biocompatibility and mechanical properties of wound dressings (Karaca ÖG et al., 2024).

  • Depletion of Free Chlorine and Generation of Trichloromethane in the Presence of pH Control Agents in Chlorinated Water at pH 6.5.: Explores the environmental and health impacts of chlorination by-products where L-Ascorbic Acid, Free Acid is used to mitigate harmful reactions. This research is crucial for improving water treatment processes, ensuring safety and sustainability (Fan X et al., 2024).

  • Nutritional Quality of Conventional, Organic, and Hydroponic Tomatoes Commercialized in Quito, Ecuador.: This study assesses the nutritional content of tomatoes grown under different agricultural practices, with L-Ascorbic Acid, Free Acid evaluated for its impact on enhancing nutrient profiles. The findings contribute to the ongoing debate on the nutritional benefits of various farming methodologies (Vélez-Terreros PY et al., 2024).
