General description

A β-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis. Sterilized by γ-irradiation. Potency: ≥ 845 µg/mg.
Antibiotic that kills bacteria by interfering with the terminal reaction in bacterial wall synthesis. Effective against gram-negative bacteria. Ampicillin is ineffective against Pseudomonas, Enterobacter, and indole-positive Proteus infections. Sterilized by γ-irradiation.

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 months at -20°C.
