General description

Sold under the trade name Lyrica®, pregabalin is an antiepileptic drug used for treatment of seizures, fibromyalgia, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, generalized anxiety disorder, and chronic neuropathic pain. This certified reference standard is suitable for pregabalin GC/MS or LC/MS applications from forensic analysis, clinical toxicology and pain prescription monitoring to urine drug testing.

Application

  • Evaluation of Pregabalin and Dexamethasone Coadministration: This study assesses the effects of Pregabalin combined with dexamethasone on preemptive multimodal analgesia and anxiety management during third molar surgeries. The trial highlighted its potential to significantly improve patient outcomes in dental procedures (Diniz et al., 2024).

  • Interactions with Antiepileptic Drugs: This article explores how Pregabalin interacts with other antiepileptic drugs when used for primary and secondary stroke prevention, particularly focusing on its compatibility and potential interactions in clinical settings (Stöllberger & Finsterer, 2024).

  • Molecular Docking Analysis: This research utilizes molecular docking techniques to analyze Pregabalin and other marine compounds targeting voltage-gated calcium channels, aiming to identify potential anti-epileptic molecules (Sheokand et al., 2024).

  • Management of Neuropathic Pain in Cats: Focused on veterinary medicine, this review discusses the mechanisms of neuropathic pain in cats and how Pregabalin, among other treatments, can be used for multimodal pain management (Rusbridge, 2024).

  • Pharmacotherapy and Noninvasive Neurostimulation: This article reviews current pharmacotherapies including Pregabalin and noninvasive neurostimulation techniques for treating neuropathic pain, providing an overview of effective pain management strategies (Spagna & Attal, 2024).
