This product is not soluble in either water or PBS. This product is tested for solubility at 1mg/mL in acetone. In addition, this product is also soluble in Chloroform at 10 mg/mL. A brief search of the literature reveals that a 1:1 mixture of DMSO and acidified isopropanol has been used successfully to dissolve this material.

Biochem/physiol Actions

No. The MTT Formazan is the reduced or cleaved form of MTT and would not be suitable in determining cell viability. For viability or metabolic cell studies see product M5655.
