Mucosal protective agent that exhibits ROS-quenching activities; stimulates Hsp70 expression
Polaprezinc is an orally available Zinc L-carnosine complex. It is a mucosal protective agent that exhibits ROS-quenching activities, which promotes the repair of damaged tissues. Polaprezinc exerts cytoprotection through stimulation of Hsp70 expression that prevents the development of inflammatory process in the large intestinal mucosa. It is approved in Japan and Korea for treatment of gastric ulcers.
