The NUPR1 (nuclear protein 1, transcriptional regulator) gene is mapped to human chromosome 16p11.2 and encodes a chromatin remodeling protein of 8.8 KDa.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 47-60 of human NUPR1
Application
Anti-NUPR1 (47-60) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blot analysis.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Nupr1 (nuclear protein 1, transcriptional regulator) is a stress response factor, induced by lipopolysaccharides, CCl4, starvation, cell cycle arrest and other protein stimuli. NUPR1 is associated with tumor cell proliferation, metastasis and apoptosis, also regulates entosis, matrix remodeling and autophagy. It serves as a substrate for protein kinase A. Overexpression of this gene is observed in glioblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma. The protein function is tissue specific and differs at molecular level. It can act as a tumor suppressor or inducer.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
