General description

Thallium (I) acetate functions as a catalyst to enhance the rate of chemical reactions in the synthesis of isothiocyanates from isocyanides and disulfides. In addition, it is also used as the source of thallium ions in organic solvents for electrochemical reactions. [1] [2]

Application

  • Thallium Use: An Overview: Offers a comprehensive overview of Thallium(I) acetate′s use in organic synthesis in the oxidation of olefins and hydrocarbons, and in epoxidation and polymerization reactions (Genchi et al., 2021).
