General description

Codeine-D3 is a stable-labeled internal standard suitable for many LC/MS or GC/MS testing applications including pain prescription monitoring, forensic analysis, clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or isotope dilution methods. Codeine is an opiate used for its analgesic, antitussive, and sedative properties and is the second-most predominant alkaloid in opium. Since opiate drugs are classified as controlled substances, Cerilliant offers most opiate reference standards as DEA-exempt solutions for added convenience.

Application

Codeine-D3 analytical standard in opioid detection: Codeine-D3 is used as an internal standard for the accurate determination of opioids in blood and pericardial fluid, enhancing forensic and clinical toxicology analyses (Ferreira et al., 2020).

Deuterated codeine for research in plasma opioid quantification: Comparison of mass spectrometry techniques using Codeine-D3 to quantify opioids in human plasma highlights its application in enhancing the sensitivity and specificity of pharmacokinetic studies (Viaene et al., 2016).

Codeine isotopic label in urinary opiate analysis: An LC-MS method was validated using Codeine-D3, proving its efficacy in the accurate determination of urinary opiate metabolites, thereby supporting drug monitoring and compliance testing (Svensson et al., 2007).

High-purity Codeine-D3 for biochemistry research: Codeine-D3 was crucial in validating a direct injection electrospray LC-MS/MS technique for opiates in urine drug testing, underscoring its utility in clinical diagnostics and forensic investigations (Gustavsson et al., 2007).
