Informazioni sul gene

human ... MSRB3(253827)

Descrizione generale

The gene MSRB3 (methionine sulfoxide reductase B3) belongs to the Msr family consisting of MsrA, MsrB, and fRMsr. The MsrAs and MsrBs catalyze the reduction of methionine-S-sulfoxide and methionine-R-sulfoxide residues in proteins, while fRMsr is involved in the reduction of free methionine-R-sulfoxide. The MsrBs include there forms MsrB1, MsrB2, and MsrB3 in mammals. They contain Zn, coordinated by two CxxC motifs involved in the stabilization of MsrB structure. MsrB3, in turn, comprises of two isoforms MsrB3A and MsrB3B, produced by alternative first exon slicing. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 12q14.3.

Immunogeno

Methionine-R-sulfoxide reductase B3, mitochondrial precursor recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

Applicazioni

Anti-MSRB3 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.

Caratteristiche e vantaggi

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

Methionine sulfoxide reductases (Msrs) are thiol-dependent enzymes which catalyze conversion of methionine sulfoxide to methionine. Three Msr families, MsrA, MsrB, and fRMsr, are known. MsrA and MsrB are responsible for the reduction of methionine-S-sulfoxide and methionine-R-sulfoxide residues in proteins, respectively
