General description

TERGITOL^™ TMN 10, a heterogeneous non-ionic amphiphilic surfactant has a hydrophobic moiety of 2,6,8-trimethyl-4-nonanol and a hydrophilic side chain of polyoxyethylene glycol with an average of 10 ethylene oxide units. This alkyl-substituted surfactant is soluble in water and most polar organic solvents.[1]

Application

• Decomposition of non-ionic surfactant Tergitol TMN-10 by the Fenton process in the presence of iron oxide nanoparticles.: This study explores the degradation of Tergitol TMN-10 using the Fenton process, enhanced by iron oxide nanoparticles, highlighting its potential for environmental remediation strategies (Kos et al., 2014).
