Informazioni sul gene

mouse ... Kcnab2(16498)

Descrizione generale

Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit beta-2, also known as Potassium Channel Kv-Beta-2 or K(+) channel subunit beta-2 or Kv-beta-2, and encoded by the gene Kcnab2/Ckbeta2/Kcnb3, is part of the multi-subunit complex that comprises the potassium ion channel. Potassium Channel Kv-Beta-2 modulates the activity of the pore-forming alpha subunit of the potassium channel. Additionally, Potassium Channel Kv-Beta-2 forms heteromultimeric complexes with not only alpha subunits but also with kinase complexes such as PRKCZ and sequestosome complexes SQSTM1. Potassium Channel Kv-Beta-2 is localized to the plasma membrane and cytoplasm.

Specificità

Other homologies: 100% homology to mouse KvB2.
This antibody does not cross react with Potassium Channel KvBeta1 or Potassium Channel Kv2.1 (Rhodes, K., et al. (1996). Journal of Neuro. 16(16):4846-4860).

Immunogeno

Recombinant protein corresponding to rat Potassium Channel Kvβ2.

Applicazioni

Detect Kv β2 using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-Potassium Channel Kvβ2 Antibody validated for use in western blotting, IHC & ICC.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected Potassium Channel Kvβ2 in mammalian hippocampal neurons (Bu, C., et al. (2006). Neuron 52(5):803-816).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected Potassium Channel Kvβ2 in human cerebellum, rat cerebellum, human cerebral cortex, and rat hindbrain tissue.

The molecular mechanisms underlying the involvement of oligodendrocytes in formation of the nodes of Ranvier (NORs) remain poorly understood. Here we show that oligodendrocyte-myelin glycoprotein (OMgp) aggregates specifically at NORs. Nodal location of OMgp does not occur along demyelinated axons
