Descrizione generale

Purospher® STAR Phenyl, 3 µm UHPLC columns are the best alternative to RP-8 or RP-18 columns for the efficient separation of aromatic compounds, and compounds containing aromatic groups. Purospher® STAR Phenyl can retain analytes via several different mechanisms, including ο-ο interactions between the overlap of the delocalized electrons on the analyte and the stationary phase phenyl group, and via partitioning between the mobile phase and the hydrophobic aryl-alkyl phase. Our Purospher® STAR Phenyl columns are based on highpurity silica particles, which provide symmetrical peaks for basic compounds, as well as high stability and excellent reproducibility. Furthermore, hydrophobic compounds elute much faster with Purospher® STAR Phenyl columns than with C-18 columns.Purospher® STAR Phenyl, 3 µm Hibar® RT 150-3 is a ready to use HPLC column suitable for connection to any HPLC system. The column dimension of 150 mm length x 3 mm I.D. is the optimal choice for HPLC separation of complex samples. A 3 mm I.D. column enables a more sustainable separation in comparison to 4 or 4.6 mm I.D. column due to the use of less solvent for the chromatographic separation.Learn more about Purospher® STAR HPLC and UHPLC ColumnsLearn more about the Supelco HPLC Column portfolio and Method development:Brochure: HPLC and UHPLC Column Selection GuideBrochure: A Practical Guide to HPLC - Method Development Guide

Small molecules are ions and compounds of molecular weight typically less than 900 daltons. These compounds can be effectively separated and analyzed by HPLC, UHPLC and LC-MS using mainly silica particles or monolithic stationary phases with a broad range of column chemistries (modifications).
