Bovine serum albumin (BSA) is a single polypeptide chain consisting of about 583 amino acid residues and no carbohydrates. It is a 66.4 kDa, water-soluble protein. BSA is characterized with three homologous domains formed by six α-helices. Depending on pH, it undergoes reversible conformational isomerization. The native structure of the protein becomes reactive and flexible on heating.
Specificity
The antibody detects endogenous levels of total BSA protein.
Immunogen
Fusion protein corresponding to a region derived from internal residues of human Bovine serum albumin
Biochem/physiol Actions
Bovine serum albumin (BSA) has been used as a model protein in various studies, such as immunodiagnostic procedures, cell culture media and clinical chemistry and relevant in foods containing bovine milk or meat. Serum albumins play a dominant role in drug disposition and efficacy by maintaining osmotic blood pressure.

C1q is a soluble pattern recognition protein that regulates multiple leukocyte functions, and deficiency in C1q results in autoimmunity. C1q stimulates enhanced phagocytic function through multiple mechanisms including the rapid enhancement of Fcγ receptor (FcγR) -mediated phagocytosis. The molecular mechanism
