一般說明
The human Dkk-1 (hDkk-1) gene, a transcriptional target of the p53 tumor suppressor, encodes a powerful inhibitor of the Wnt signaling pathway and regulates the spatial patterning/morphogenesis of the mammalian central nervous system. The Dkk-1 gene, also called Dickkopf-1 , is a prototype member of a recently identified gene family that encodes secreted glycoproteins that control cell fate and neural patterning during embryonic development. This gene is located on human chromosome 10q.

應用
请参考Protocol了解详情。
生化/生理作用
Evidence strongly indicates that Dkk-1 protein functions as a potent inhibitor of the Wnt signaling pathway to enable appropriate positioning and development of the embryonic brain and other organ structures. hDkk-1 protein also has a pro-apoptotic function.

The diversity of functional phenotypes observed within a tumor does not exclusively result from intratumoral genetic heterogeneity but also from the response of cancer cells to the microenvironment. We have previously demonstrated that the morphological and functional phenotypes of melanoma
