本试剂盒适于酶促定量测定食物及其他材料中的葡萄糖水平。 首先通过己糖激酶催化三磷酸腺苷(ATP)磷酸化葡萄糖。 随后,在存在氧化型烟酰胺腺嘌呤二核苷酸(NAD)的条件下,葡萄糖-6-磷酸(G6P)通过葡萄糖-6-磷酸脱氢酶(G6PDH)催化的反应磷酸化为6-磷酸-葡萄糖酸。 在这一氧化反应中,相等摩尔数量的NAD被还原为NADH。 相应增加的340 nm吸光值即与葡萄糖浓度直接成正比。
