5-氨基乙酰丙酸（5-ALA）是血红素生物合成的中间物，可以用于治疗癌症。它是一种非蛋白氨基酸。5-ALA同样用于农业。它可用作基于转移性淋巴结荧光诊断原卟啉 IX (PPIX)抑制剂。5-ALA可以用于疾病光动力诊疗，比如Paget疾病和HPV感染有关的宫颈尖锐湿疣。
