Descripción general

Bubble flowmeter is a simple and precise way to measure flow rates of gases. It determines the volumetric flow rate by measuring the time taken by the gas stream to move a soap bubble through a specific volume. Bubble flowmeters can be used to check splitter or detector flow or to calibrate personal pumps for accurate air sampling.
The most basic configuration of a bubble flowmeter is a calibrated tube, a stopwatch, and a good eye. The bubble is timed as it moves up the calibrated tube between two markings. Flow tubes are graduated as follows:
  • 10 mL tube in 1 mL increments
  • 25 mL tube in 5 mL increments
  • 50 mL tube in 10 mL increments
  • 100 mL tube in 20 mL increments
Includes glass flow tube with two magnetic clamps, a short piece of Tygon tubing and a squeeze bulb. Stand not included.

Aplicación

Bubble flowmeter may be used to manually control the flow at the system outlet during analysis of perfluorobutane (PFB) in the exhaled rat air using respiration-metabolism chamber system and a GC-MS method.[1]

1–9 de 9 Preguntas
  1. 1. Should i fill the bottom of the 100ml flowmeter with a bubble-forming liquid, such as Swagelok's Snoop? 2. What is size of included tube OD, ID? Can i use OD 6mm,ID 4mm tube?

    1 respuesta
    1. Snoop would be an ideal bubble forming liquid. The specified tubing inner diameter is 3/16", which is 4.75mm. 4mm ID, 6mm OD tubing could be a little tight, but may work for an elastic material such as Tygon.

  2. When calibrating a nitrogen MFC (10sccm), can I record the time when the bubble passes the 10ml mark and divide it? If it takes exactly 60 seconds to pass the 10ml mark, is it 10sccm?

    1 respuesta
    1. The most common method for calibrating a gas flow rate using the Manual Bubble Flowmeter involves using a timer to measure the time required for a bubble to pass through a specific marked volume. If the bubble passes the 10 mL mark in 60 seconds, the flow rate is measured as 10 standard cubic centimeters per minute (sccm).

  3. Can I used this 20433-U in below condition? Gas : CO2+H2 (3:1) Flow rate : 100-2,000 mL/min Max Pressure : 0.5 bar-g and what's about size of tube?

    1 respuesta
    1. This item is suitable for use with room air, argon/methane, carbon dioxide, helium, hydrogen, and nitrogen. The tubing should have an ID of 3/16 inches, see product Z765228. The optimal pressure is listed at 20 psi or 1.4 bar. However, this unit has an approximate flow rate of 20mL to 1000mL per minute.
