JNK2 is a member of the JNK family that acts as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and is involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. JNK2 targets specific transcription factors, and mediates immediate-early gene expression in response to various cell stimuli. Both UV radiation and the proinflammatory cytokine TNFα can induce JNK2. JNK2 play a main role in the regulation of regional specific apoptosis during early brain development and providing protection against autoimmune diabetes.

The c-Jun NH(2)-terminal kinase isoform (JNK) 1 is implicated in type 2 diabetes. However, a potential role for the JNK2 protein kinase in diabetes has not been established. Here, we demonstrate that JNK2 may play an important role in type
The c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (Jnk) family is implicated in apoptosis, but its function in brain development is unclear. Here, we address this issue using mutant mice lacking different members of the family (Jnk1, Jnk2, and Jnk3). Mice deficient in Jnk1
