Indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase (IDO) 2 is one of the four tryptophan catabolic enzymes in mammals. IDO2 is located on human chromosome 8p21.
Inmunógeno
Peptide with sequence CRDKTLESILHPR, from the C-Terminus of the protein sequence according to NP_919270.2.
Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas
Indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase (IDO) 2 plays an important role in the metabolism of tryptophan and in immune regulation. It may participate in B cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. IDO2 is required for IDO1-dependent induction of T regulatory cells (Treg). Removal of IDO2 results in attenuated contact hypersensitivity (CHS) responses.

IDO2 is implicated in tryptophan catabolism and immunity but its physiological functions are not well established. Here we report the characterization of mice genetically deficient in IDO2, which develop normally but exhibit defects in IDO-mediated T-cell regulation and inflammatory responses.
