Biochem/physiol Actions

Arylsulfatase B (ARSB) is a lysosomal enzyme that breaks down glycosaminoglycans (dermatan sulfate (DS) and chondroitin sulfate) in lysosomes. Mutations in ARSB lead to a rare autosomal-recessive disorder, Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome (MPS-VI).
