General description

Monellin is considered a sweet protein and consists of two subunits, chain A and chain B.[1] It is used as a non-carbohydrate sweetener and is beneficial for diabetic patients.[2]

Application

Monellin from Dioscoreophyllum cumminsii (serendipity berry) has been used in biophysical studies.[3][4]

  1. What is the purity, molecular weight, source and pI of your monellin?

    1. The minimum purity of this material is 90%. This is a partially purified product, the lot-specific purity is published in the Certificate of Analysis. The calculated molecular weight of the A chain 5250 g/mol and the calculated molecular weight of the B chain is 5834.6 g/mol. The PI has not been determined.
