L-741,626 has been used as selective dopamine (D₂) receptor antagonist to study its effects on the uptake of dopamine in human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK293) cells.[1] It has also been used as a D₂ receptor antagonist to study its effects on thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) induced prolactin release.[2]
