General description
Doxycycline is a member of the tetracycline antibiotics group, and is commonly used to treat a variety of infections. It is a Broad spectrum antibiotic and bacteriostatic. Doxycycline shows antiprotozoal properties and is a potent inhibitor of MMPs (matrix metalloproteinases) in vivo.

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.

This product is a 100 mg/mL solution in DMSO. As DMSO is a cryoprotectant, storage at -80°C is not expected to be detrimental to the product quality. However, the stability of this solution as -80°C has not been investigated.

There is no recommended or maximum number of freeze/thaw cycles for this product. It is advisable to store in aliquots to minimize freeze/thaw cycles.
