Application

L-Cysteine hydrochloride has been used as a supplement in media to study the metabolic and sleep phenotypes of Drosophila melanogaster. It has also been used as one of the reagents for cell dissociation and single cell collection.

Cys residues are present at the catalytic sites of various enzymes.
