Chemische Struktur: ß-Laktam
Anwendung
Penicillin G ist ein Schmalspektrum-Antibiotikum, das aus Streptococcus pneumoniae gewonnen wird. Es ist das bevorzugte Arzneimittel für Streptokokken Gruppe A, B, C und G, Nicht-enterokokkale Gruppe D-Streptokokken, Streptokokken der Viridians-Gruppe und Nicht-Penicillinase-produzierende Staphylokokken. Das Kaliumsalz wurde für die Untersuchung der Mursome von Staphylokokken und die penicillininduzierte Lyse von of Streptococcus mutans verwendet.
Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
Wirkungsweise: Penicillin G wirkt durch Hemmung der Zellwandsynthese durch die Bindung an Penicillin bindende Proteine (PBP), um die Vernetzung der Peptidoglycan-Kette zu hemmen.
Antimikrobielles Spektrum: Diese Produkt ist wirksam gegen grampositive und gramnegative Bakterien.

Vorsicht
Die Lösungen sollter filtersterilisiert werden und können bei 2 - 8 °C für 1 Woche und bei -20 °C für längere Zeiträume aufbewahrt werden. Lösungen sind bei 37 °C für 3 Tage stabil. Das Kaliumsaltz ist zu 100 mg/ml in H2O löslich.
